Huntington Beach is a beautiful coastal city that is known for its beaches, but more importantly, its surfing. There are multiple beaches where surfers flock, which has led to the city being referred to as “Surf City USA.” Our Huntington Beach scavenger hunt will guide you through the best spots in this iconic surf city.
The first place to visit is the iconic Huntington Beach Pier. This pier stretches out a whopping 1,850 feet, making it one of the longest piers on the West Coast. Take a walk out onto the Pacific Ocean and enjoy 360-degree views of California and the wide open seas.
After you walk the pier, relax in the sun on Huntington State Beach! This is a 121-acre public beach that is free to visit and offers fun for all. If you’re not into laying on the sand, go for a swim in the ocean, play a game of hoop on the basketball courts, or play a game of volleyball on the beach volleyball courts. If you are looking to eat the beach has barbecue grills where you can cook and picnic ramadas where you can enjoy your meal.
Another beautiful place to visit is the Bosla Chica Ecological Reserve. The Bosla Chica Ecological Reserve is a 1,300 acre coastal estuary with a variety of habitat types, wildlife, and activities. In terms of habitats, you will find mudflats, a salt marsh, seabird nest islands, and more. In terms of wildlife, you will find more than 200 species of birds, gophers, ground squirrels, and others. In terms of activities, you can book a free tour that are offered by multiple non-profit organizations and explore the reserve through on of the various hiking trails.
