Are you feeling bored in your daily activities, or feeling that you lack a connection to the individuals that you interact with daily? A cityHUNT photo scavenger hunt can be an amazing way to explore your city while making memories and bonding with your coworkers or friends. Not only will you have an amazing event but you will also have pictures to document this experience so you don’t forget any of it. This hunt can be accomplished on your smart phones using our very own cityHUNT Scavenger Hunt App. These four steps will give you the know how to make your event come to life!
Step 1:
Figure out the Finer Details
Before we get into laying out the scavenger hunt you will need to hammer out some of the more basic facts on what your event will entail.
Numbers
Find out how many people will be attending the event
Figure out how many groups you will have (We suggest groups of 4-8)
Budget
Once you know your group size/total attendees you should determine your budget for the event
Equipment
Consider the following questions:
Do you want to have a paper copy of the clues for your hunters, or have the hunt in the app?
Will the hunters need additional supplies during the hunt?
Are you going to do prizes, if so what kind?
Step 2:
Figure out what you want to gain from this event
What type of event do you want?
Is this an event for a bridal party, corporate team building experience, or a birthday party? These are just a few of the many possible types of events you could plan with a cityHUNT Scavenger Hunt. You need to decide if you want to show your friend’s a fun day out in the city or increase the level of collaboration and employee happiness in your office (these are only a few examples)? These details will allow you to design a hunt that will translate into completing in the goals that you want to achieve for your event.
What do you want to get out of the event?
One of the most important decisions you can make for your event is what you want to get out of it. This will help you to set goals, that you will be able to measure the success of. You will also be able to build a theme for your cityHUNT Scavenger Hunt around this theme. A theme is a great way to further incorporate your goals and values/what you want to get out of the hunt into your event.
Step 3:
Location, location, location!
Your city is likely full of amazing neighborhoods and national landmarks; whether you have seen them or not is the question. You need the location you choose to cater to the needs of your guests. Will they be able to walk through the area that you are scouting out, or will they require bikes or public transportation? An integral step in planning a scavenger hunt will be either choosing an area that you are familiar with, or locating and visiting a new location. Once you have finalized your location you can start to build clues that center around the landmarks and locations that you want to visit during your hunt.
Step 4:
Now the Fun Begins…..
Now that you have decided on your goals, theme and location, you can start to build the hunt. You will need to make a list of locations to visit and create clues for the teams to solve during the hunt. We recommend that a hunt last about two hours. However, you should aim to create more clues than your team can solve because the last thing that you want to happen is for the hunt to end before you have the chance to bond with your team. You also need to design a clue sheet that the teams can access during the hunt. This document will let the team know what the rules are, when the deadlines are, and what locations they will visit during the event. Once the teams are armed and ready then the hunt will commence and you can begin to watch all of your hard work come together in this group experience!
