Benjamin Peace Hoffman

“I created cityHUNT out of a passionate idea to get people excited and bring some fun back to the workplace. Now, I’m proud to be part of a company that extends its mindfulness and experience across the country. I’m so happy that I get to see cityHUNT evolve and grow every day!”

Ben is the CEO and creator of cityHUNT, and a brilliantly impassioned individual who truly wants to make more awesome in the world. He began cityHUNT as a modest idea in his dorm room while a student at NYU in the early 2000s. What started as a theater project turned into much more, as Benjamin’s creativity and passion fully blossomed, eventually turning the idea into the grand company it is today.

Inspired in the fall of the year 2000, Ben stumbled across a delightful scavenger hunt event while touring pubs for a birthday at NYU. In the rush of excitement, creativity, and fun, Ben was struck by the spontaneity and joy of the hunt. Combining this formative experience with his knowledge and personal creativity, Ben sought to expand the idea of the simple scavenger hunt into something more, something that could be enjoyed by anyone anywhere.

Benjamin is a big believer in changing lives through experience. CityHUNT was born through this belief, and Ben’s strong desire to make the world a little bit better through fun and cooperative play is what cultivated the company in its early days. Ben’s traction with the company increased as he noticed how many companies were actively searching for innovative new ways to strengthen their teams, boost morale, and have fun together. From a simple Madison Avenue office of two employees, cityHUNT now is the adventure guide for some of the biggest companies in North America, including a list of Fortune 500 clients.

As cityHUNT evolves, Benjamin has evolved with it. He is intimately aware of how the future is a series of unknowns, and is constantly striving to make sure that cityHUNT is there for the people who need it. Whether it’s clients, friends, or family, the cityHunt scavenger hunts have been out of this world experiences that continue to add new offerings and possibilities year by year.

Holding a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Ben has always been an active doer, a person that wants to better the world in substantial ways. Benjamin has been quoted as a Team Building Subject Expert by both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He’s been featured on the Today Show, his infectious smile and positive outlook on full display.

Ben has done positive psychology training with Tony Robbins, and extensive Mindfulness Training in India with Ragu Marcus. He has also traveled to Ecuador to participate in The Andes Summit, a rare occasion where people form personal relationships with world-renowned master Shamans. Benjamin has traveled the Earth looking for visionaries that can expand his outlook and grow his personal bonds, and he has returned all these ideas back to cityHUNT, where the company has deepened its values. Ben has also presented at Conscious Capitalism, searching for new ways to present ethical business solutions that can better himself and others.

An active member of the Better Business Bureau, Ben keeps himself in the know for cityHUNT by engaging in Ted Talks, Tiny Buddha wisdom, and Fast Company magazine, a monthly American periodical that focuses on the importance of technology, business, and design. Benjamin also holds monthly Fire Circles where he can practice meditation and mindfulness with others, sharing in the expanding journey of wholeness and growth that always comes back to cityHUNT.

Ever excited for what might happen next, Ben is ecstatic for the future of cityHUNT and its rapidly growing team. Whether it’s scavenger hunts, virtual events, cooking classes, or workshops, Benjamin is convinced there is nothing that cityHUNT cannot do!
